InteRDom Participated at The International Student Day at CUNY Bronx Community College

InteRDom Coordinator Manuel Medrano just finished an exciting event celebrating International Education Day with CUNY Bronx Community College, by participating in an interesting event on March 3, 2020, designed to increase students’ awareness of and participation in international study, internship, work, and volunteer programs. The event boasted the participation of more than 12 CUNY departments. International Student advisors’ representatives collected resumes and spoke to many students interested in business, communications, international relations and political science opportunities in the U.S & abroad. The event attracted more than 60 students who were interested in learning about the different university clubs and the work the career center does in terms of local and international opportunities for international students.... GFDD Closes 2019 InteRDom Summer Edition

On August 14th, 2019, with a cozy and friendly dinner with the program’s staff and participants at Restaurant El Higuero in Santo Domingo, GFDD’s New York Office Director, Yamile Eusebio, closed the 2019 Summer edition of the InteRDom Program. InteRDom 2019 Begins its Summer Program

Santo Domingo – On Monday, June 3th, InteRDom’s 2019 Summer program got underway in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the introduction of the four new interns who will participate in the current program, led by Manuel Medrano, GFDD’s program coordinator. The interns participating in this year’s Summer program will be Marlene Beltre, a criminal justice student from CUNY John Jay College; Camryn Collete, a environmental student from Shenandoah University; Gabriela Garcia, a Bachelor of Science student from The College of New Rochelle; and Jessica de los Santos, a Bachelor of Arts student from Williams College. GFDD/Funglode Hosts the President and Representatives of St. Francis College During Santo Domingo Visit

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic, la Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (Funglode) hosted representatives from St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York during a five-day exchange in Santo Domingo. During their trip, the St. Francis College representatives, who included the university’s president, Dr. Miguel Martínez-Saenz, shared experiences and promoted the college as well as its scholarship program to Dominican students and leaders in the Dominican education sector. Creating the Future One Student at a Time

Santo Domingo – On Monday, September 10 InteRDom’s 2018 fall program got underway in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the presentation of a new intern who will participate in the current program led by Manuel Medrano, GFDD’s program coordinator. The intern that will participate in this year’s fall program is Olivia Tillinghast, a Nursing Program student from Northeastern University in the United States. Santo Domingo - Last Monday, April 16, InteRDom’s 2018 spring program got underway in Santo  Domingo, Dominican Republic, with the presentation of the two new interns that will participate in the current program by Manuel Medrano, GFDD’s program coordinator. InteRDom Participated at New York Model United Nations Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean (NYMUNLAC 2018)

GFDD, along with its sister organization Funglode, headed the opening this past April 1th of the New York Model United Nations Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean (NYMUNLAC2018) organized by Global Muners and ANURD.  The opening ceremony was held at the Grand Hotel Hyatt in New York City, with the participation of hundreds of students from all over the world. Summer 2017 InteRDom Interns Take Part in Their Final Excursion

Santo Domingo – Over the weekend, the Summer 2017 InteRDom interns took part in the third and final cultural activity of their program. The interns had the opportunity on Saturday, August 5th to enjoy a full day in the municipality of Baní, where they visited a number of truly picturesque landscapes. Accompanied by InteRDom staff, the interns departed the headquarters of Funglode at 10:00 a.m. and were told of the significance of the locations they were about to visit on the way. The day brought adventure in the form of climbing the Dunes of Baní, historical lessons in visiting the Salt Mines of Baní, and later, rest and relaxation during a brief swim in the Playa... InteRDom Summer 2017: Mirabal Sisters Museum and the Ruta del Cacao

Santo Domingo - The second Summer 2017 InteRDom cultural excursion took place on Saturday, July 1st. Both interns and InteRDom staff departed from the Funglode headquarters and headed to San Francisco de Macorís to take part in the “Ruta del Cacao” (Chocolate Trail) tour. Upon their arrival, the interns were presented with glasses of warm cocoa, given a tour of the company’s facilities and educated on the process of cocoa production by knowledgeable employees. The tour began with the interns planting their own cacao plant while the staff discussed the Dominican Republic’s ecosystem.
