Business Students Connect over Dominican Culture at Babson College GDAE Program

In celebration of International Education Week, Babson College Dominican students hosted five college students from the Dominican Republic on their campus as part of the Global Dominican Academic Exchange program, from November 2-8, 2015. The students bonded over cultural similarities while also being immersed in American-style business classes at Babson College. The agenda for the week included campus tours of Babson College and Harvard University, along with tours of historic sites of downtown Boston, museum visits, and basketball games. During the day students had the opportunity to attend business classes with their hosts, selecting the courses based on their majors and personal interests. InteRDom to Participate in 8th Annual Baruch College Work Abroad Fair

For the fourth year in a row, InteRDom representatives will be participating in the eighth annual Work Abroad Fair at Baruch College in New York City on October 13, 2015. The fair is hosted by the Baruch College Weissman Center for International Business, and is located at the Information and Technology Building on the 7th Floor. The InteRDom program has a long relationship with Baruch College, both in hosting interns at their New York headquarters and placing students in internships in the Dominican Republic. This fair is a unique opportunity for program representatives to meet students who are interested in careers overseas, and in years past has helped recruit excellent talent for programs and opportunities in the Dominican Republic.... University of Washington and GDAE Summer Institute in Transnational Law Ends on a High Note

The newest partnership with the Global Dominican Academic Exchange (GDAE) program and the Summer Institute in Transnational Law and Practice at the University of Washington (UW) School of Law came to a successful close this week, where six Dominican law students earned a certificate for the two week-long program, from September 4-18, 2015. The students will return to the Dominican Republic with new understanding of the various methods of legal analysis and argumentation practiced in the United States. Using both traditional U.S. law school-style instruction and small group tutorials and practice sessions, participants of the Summer Institute focused on three areas--Introduction to the American Legal System and Practice, Legal Skills and Methodology, and Legal English.... InteRDom Promotes Programs in the Dominican Republic through Film Screening at Drexel University

InteRDom representatives returned to Drexel University for the second spring in a row to present a special screening of the film La Montaña (The Mountain) on Thursday, April 16. This event was organized in collaboration with the Drexel University Spanish Club to promote internship opportunities available through InteRDom, and to encourage students to apply for InteRDom’s 2015 summer and fall programs. The event attracted Drexel students interested in Latino culture and Spanish language, as well as individuals interested in seeing the film. InteRDom Forms New Relationships with Universities at the Forum on Education Abroad Annual Conference

The 2015 Forum on Education Abroad’s 11th Annual Conference created the perfect networking environment for InteRDom representatives, who joined more than 1,500 international education professionals and educators to discuss topics surrounding this year’s theme, “It Takes a Campus and More: The Faces of Education Abroad.” Program representatives also formed new relationships with university representatives and industry professionals from across the US and abroad. InteRDom to Join Dominican Diaspora Students at the 9th Annual National Dominican Student Conference

For the eighth consecutive year, InteRDom will attend the 9th National Dominican Student Conference, hosted by Grupo Quisqueyano at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, from March 27-29th, 2015. The theme for this year’s conference is: "La Evolución De Nuestra Generación: De Dónde Venimos y Hacia Dónde Nos Dirigimos,” which translates to “The Evolution of Our Generation: Where We Come From and Where We are Heading,” and will focus on how the current Dominican generation is influenced by generations past, and the challenges that face future generations.
