InteRDom will be in attendance once again to provide networking opportunities and to support students looking to bolster their resumes with international experiences.

This year’s agenda features a keynote address by acclaimed author and Pulitzer Prize winner, Junot Diaz, whose novel The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Waobrought a lot of mainstream visibility to Dominican diasporatic issues.  Students can register to attend on the conference website, and early bird discounts are available before March 5.

The conference will open on Friday evening, April 6th, with a screening of the movie Sugar, the story of a young Dominican contracted to play baseball in the United States, and Saturday’s activities will feature a series of workshops and panel discussions including topics such as Dominican entrepreneurship, language discrimination, and the internationalization of music, among others.

This year’s conference hopes to attract more than 300 students to serve its mission to educate, uplift and unite the Dominican college student community in the United States.

InteRDom’s participation in the Conference is part of the efforts that its parent institutions Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and its sister organization in the Dominican Republic,FUNGLODE, make to strengthen collaboration with the Dominican descendants and professionals living in the United States and abroad.
