InteRDom representatives have a busy and exciting week ahead, as they visit the University of Rhode Island (URI) in Kingston to celebrate International Education Week by attending a special panel discussion and participating in the Fall Internship and Job Fair and the Work, Internship and Volunteer Opportunities Abroad Luncheon on Thursday, November 20, 2014.

InteRDom’s first event, Going Global: Finding an International Program that is Right for You, is a panel discussion by URI College of Nursing faculty and former students sharing their international experiences, which will be hosted by the URI College of Nursing on Tuesday, November 18, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the Hillside main lounge on campus. During the panel, representatives will also meet with students applying for the two-week January Short-Term Nursing Program hosted by InteRDom in the Dominican Republic.

On Thursday, InteRDom will participate in the URI Fall Internship and Job Fair, held in the Memorial Union Ballroom from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. Representatives are excited to meet with students that are interested in performing internships and fellowships in the Dominican Republic. Concurrent with the fair, representatives will also be participating in a brand new URI event, a panel discussion on Work, Internship and Volunteer Opportunities Abroad, hosted by the URI International Center for Career and Experiential Education from 12:30 – 1:45 pm in the Quinn Auditorium. The event provides students a chance to explore international professional and personal development opportunities with a variety of organizations in the business, nonprofit, government, and eco-centered industries through discussion with a panel of representatives from different organizations.  Refreshments and an opportunity to network will follow the panel discussion.

InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
