InteRDom continued to cultivate its budding relationship with New York University on Thursday, March 8 with its participation in the 2012 Non-profit, Education and Healthcare Career Fair, hosted by the NYU Wasserman Center for Career Development, which services students in all NYU graduate and undergraduate degree programs.

Representatives were also provided the opportunity to network with other organizations in attendance, which included Environment America, Global Vision International, City Year, Peace Corps and Victory Education Partners, among others.

At the fair, representatives spoke with students interested in the work of nonprofits, especially as it relates to the education and healthcare industries, about the opportunities available in the Dominican Republic through the InteRDom program, as well as the programs and opportunities that InteRDom’s parent institutions, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), provide.

There was an evident interest in the student body in international opportunities and research, so a particular spotlight was placed on the Fellows program, as many students approached the stand interested in research opportunities related to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

Representatives were also provided the opportunity to network with other organizations in attendance, which included Environment America, Global Vision International, City Year, Peace Corps and Victory Education Partners, among others.

InteRDom Internships is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic. It offers international students the opportunity to research important topics at the forefront of the United Nations agenda, obtain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their fields of study and/or earn academic credits by taking courses and seminars at a local university.
