InteRDom Announces the 7th edition of its Internship Certification Program

InteRDom is pleased to announce the 7th edition of its successful training course “Internship Certification Program,” which will be held April 24-25, 2013 at Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE / GFDD).

This edition of the Internship Certification Programwill take place from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and it is aimed at human resources representatives, project managers, managers and professionals from all areas who are interested in creating or optimizing their internship programs.

The training will include the participation of representatives from the departments of internships and graduate studies of renowned national universities who wish to promote their graduating students, as well as representatives from organizations that have previously been certified by InteRDom, who will share their experiences and the best practices they have implemented in the management of their internship programs. To date more than 50 Dominican organizations have certified their programs with InteRDom.

Duringthe last training course,representatives of the following organizations were certified: Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE), GrupoCorporativo New Horizons, Franquicias de la Hispaniola, Seaboard, DistribuidoraCorripio, PolloCibao, Universidad Nacional Pedro HenríquezUreña (UNPHU), the Coral Costa Caribe Hotel, and Mayor League Baseball (MLB).

The objectives of the certification are:

  1. To educate participating organizations in building effective internship programs, strengthen existing ones and develop them in an ongoing basis.
  2. To provide guidance for employees in the development of work plans that include the participationof interns in their medium- and long-term planning.
  3. To help HR executivesin identifying employees who may be eligible to act as internships coordinator.
  4. To promote a culture of academic exchange among universities and local / international companies.
  5. To increase the presence of ethnic and diverse talent throughoutall areas of the organization.
  6. To analyze, from the standpoint of the employers, the legal aspects associated with the internships.

The Certification of Internships Programs is organized by InteRDom, an initiative of Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and its sister organization in the United States, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD). InteRDom facilitates professional exchange between universities, international students and businesses, while supporting training initiatives that encourage development, diversity and work culture.
