Kim Photo: Alexandría FruitInteRDom Internships in the Dominican Republic is proud to introduce two new and exciting multimedia initiatives already underway this summer in collaboration with interns participating in summer programs: InteRDom Baton and the InteRDom Summer Photo Contest.

The InteRDom Baton is a collection of photos taken by InteRDom interns during their summer program and shared on the official InteRDom Instagram and Facebook pages. InteRDom gives the “baton” (an Apple iPod Touch) to an intern who takes photos for one day of their program, then passes the baton on to another intern, and this continues until all of the interns have taken photos with the baton during the program. InteRDom created this project in an effort to show the day-to-day activities of the interns. So far, the interns have uploaded over 80 photos from a variety of cultural activities and daily life in the Dominican Republic, showing the unique perspectives of each intern. You can view the photos online at:http://instagram.com/interdominternships/ or in the InteRDom Baton Photo Album on our Facebook page.

The InteRDom Summer Photo Contest is a pilot contest for the Summer 2013 interns, held exclusively on Facebook. This contest encourages the interns to take candid photos that convey their internship and the InteRDom experience. InteRDom will select only two winning photos from all submissions; one will be determined by the amount of votes a photo gets on Facebook and the other will be determined by an InteRDom panel of judges. Anyone who is a fan of the InteRDom Facebook page can vote in the contest, and voting ends on August 7, 2013 at 11:59 pm. To view the photos and vote on your favorites, please visit the InteRDom Facebook page today! Winners of the contest will be announced during the closing ceremony of the program on August 9th and the winning photos will be displayed in a slideshow presentation during the ceremony, along with all photos from the InteRDom Baton project.
