InteRDomProgram Makes a Networking Visit to the Expoinmobilia 2014 Fair

InteRDom, aprogram of the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE),attended the ExpoinmobiliaFair 2014, which took place from October 10-12, 2014in the event hall atSambil Mall.The fair provided an opportunity for representatives from the program to become acquainted with the key stakeholders in this sector in order to introduce them to theInteRDom program and coordinate internships for international students toparticipate in future projects.

IMG_20141014_141124 (1)The fair was a showcase for the most importantplayersin the real estate sector in the Dominican Republic, as well as for products and services related to construction.  It served as a reference for all those interested in learning about alternativesavailable in the marketplace in the area of property and home salesand other types of buildings.  Products and basic remodeling supplies andother inputs related to housing were also on display at the fair. It also boasted an interestingagendaof speakers on various topics, including: “Sustainable Cities” by Raul de Moya and “A History of Dominican Architecture” by Marcos Blonda, among others.

One of the main attributes of the fair was its role as the premiere event bringing togetherbusiness possibilities fromreliable and stable companies affiliated with the construction and real estate sector, which translates into an excellent source for creating connections with national construction companies.  Christty Armand, InteRDom’s Internship and Corporate Relations Coordinator, developed new relationships with companies represented at the trade fair in order to expand the internship offering for international students in the area of architecture and construction.

InteRDomis an initiative of the Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE) and its sister organization in the United States, the Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD). The program promotes academic exchange between Dominican companies and international universities and contributes to strengthening the insertion of professionals into the labor sector.
