The internship program, InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo (FUNGLODE), will participate in the “Opportunity Knocks Career & Information Fair,” taking place at George Washington University, February 6, 2007.
At InteRDom’s stand, students will be able to become familiar with the internship opportunities available for this summer, and learn about the Dominican organizations affiliated with the program. Part of the InteRDom team will also be present to answer any student questions.
During the event, InteRDom will receive resumes and proposals from students interested in developing projects or theses this summer related to the areas in which InteRDom offers internship opportunities.
InteRDom’s stand will be targeted towards students that are considering obtaining professional experience and academic credit in the Caribbean, as well as participating businesses that need to train candidates to develop programs or products related to the Region.
InteRDom is part of the Elliot School Career Connection (ESCC), an online resource for graduate students, alumni, professors and university employees. This online program allows students to register, obtain information about work experiences, download resumes and cover letters, search for jobs and internships, and gain valuable tips on mastering interviews.
InteRDom offers students the opportunity to gain professional experience by interning with Dominican organizations and businesses related to their field of study. The program significantly contributes to the development of the nation’s employment sector and the advancement of academic research.
