{"id":1855,"date":"2014-10-20T20:35:17","date_gmt":"2014-10-20T20:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.interdominternships.org\/id\/?p=1855"},"modified":"2014-10-20T20:35:17","modified_gmt":"2014-10-20T20:35:17","slug":"interdom-travels-to-michigan-for-international-fairs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.interdominternships.org\/es\/interdom-travels-to-michigan-for-international-fairs\/","title":{"rendered":"InteRDom Travels to Michigan for International Fairs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In an effort to bring opportunities in the Dominican Republic to a larger audience throughout the United States, InteRDom is excited to be participating for the first time in two back-to-back fairs at Michigan universities; the <em>Global Opportunities Fair<\/em> at Michigan State University on October 22nd, 2014, and the <em>International Opportunities Fair<\/em> at the University of Michigan on October 23rd, 2014.<\/p>\n<p>Formerly limited mainly to the east coast in its promotional efforts, the program is enthusiastic to be reaching new audiences and bringing knowledge of the Caribbean and all it has to offer to other parts of the country.<\/p>\n<p>With growing interest among students in international opportunities outside of the traditional study abroad programs, universities have been responding by providing fairs specific to this niche, which feature opportunities for work, internships, volunteering, teaching and fellowships abroad, as well as international careers. In 2014, InteRDom found great success in attending these fairs, which are a perfect\u00a0fit for the types of programs InteRDom promotes.<\/p>\n<p>InteRDom will be one of more than 40+ and 60+\u00a0organizations represented at each fair, with roughly\u00a0500 students and alumni expected to be in attendance. These fairs will be some of the biggest for InteRDom this year, and representatives\u00a0are\u00a0looking forward to making connections with students and discussing their internship interests and how they would benefit from an international experience in the Dominican Republic.<\/p>\n<p>InteRDom, an initiative of Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.globalfoundationdd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">GFDD<\/a>) and Fundaci\u00f3n Global Democracia y Desarrollo (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.funglode.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">FUNGLODE<\/a>), is the premier internship, research and academic study program in the Dominican Republic.
