The Dominican Republic offers exciting and diverse opportunities for students interested in realizing internships in the area of international relations and law. This highly interdisciplinary field unites political, social, environmental and technological studies, and seeks to foster understanding of distinct cultures and realities.

Students interested in working with international institutions can advance their understanding of the Caribbean; develop increased awareness of the Dominican Republic’s relationships with other countries and the challenges presented by cross-border migration; and further comprehension of the nation’s strategic position in the Region.

Innovative work in these fields is being conducted related to commercial exchange, democratization, human rights and civil liberties, environmental preservation and management, public health, education, social welfare, technological innovation and business creation.

InteRDom provides internship opportunities to students of law and international relations with prominent public, private and non-profit institutions in the areas of: legal training, intellectual property rights, legislation, societal justice, trade relations, trade law, consumer rights, constitutional law, international law, labor law, environmental protection, health and information and communications technology.

InteRDom is currently collaborating with the Ministry of Labor to revise the Labor Act, which contains an internship component. The Labor Act corresponds to all sectors in the Dominican Republic. Interns involved in this project will interact with a wide array of industries within the country. This internship is open to students of all academic disciplines.

Students interested in carrying out internships in this area should possess native or bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
