The Dominican Republic forms part of a group of countries that have transformed their economies through the employment of new technologies, in all fields of knowledge and the production of goods and services.

Students interested in carrying-out internships in information and communications technology may apply to be part of a research project involving more than 300 radio stations, 40 television channels, various telecommunication companies, diverse universities and important technology enterprise incubators.

Students may also become involved in projects with the Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA – Technological Institute of the Americas), which offers national and international academic programs in innovative areas like: Mechatronics, Multimedia, Information Technology, Software Development and Digital Journalism Programs. ITLA is the number one school for technology in the Caribbean.

Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) develops projects and programs in the Dominican Republic directly related to the following areas:

Digital Media Management
E-Commerce
Programming and Software Development
Webpage Design
