InteRDom is growing!, and the program is expanding its internship and academic offering to accommodate students of all study areas, language capabilities and career paths. We are currently working with universities such as the University of Rhode Island and the City College of New York to create short programs tailored to specific academic courses and service-learning initiatives to expand the depth of knowledge on Caribbean issues imparted on United States campuses.
Stay tuned later this year for the official launch of thematic short programs open to individual students and university groups alike.
You can read about all of the exciting programs taking place this summer in the special Summer Programs section on our website. |

Featured Student: Chris Martinez
Each InteRDom student is unique, and the Program works hard to tailor internship and research experiences to the special interests of each individual. Now there are more spaces than ever for these students to share their experiences with other students around the world. Who better to demonstrate the diversity of experiences the Dominican Republic has to offer through InteRDom than the students themselves?
Meet Chris Martinez, InteRDom Fall 2011 Intern and student of Global Studies at San Jose State University in California. Chris conducted a journalistic research project on baseball in the Dominican Republic wherein she interviewed key figures, attended baseball games and explored the particularities and issues surrounding this not only American, but Dominican, pastime. Read about her semester in the InteRDom Experience Series, and check out the articles she produced that were published on the InteRDom blog. |
