The program coordinates a customized internship experience ranging from 10 – 48 weeks in duration, according to each student's study area and career interests. InteRDom works with more than 350 organizations in public, private and non-profit sectors to match students with an organization to foster a mutually beneficial relationship.

InteRDom offers internship opportunities to business students interested in developing new business plans, exploring openings in local and international markets and gaining experience in the financial system. InteRDom works with companies and organizations that conduct work related to: trade agreements, exports and imports, business incubation, small and medium-sized businesses, tourism and information and communication technologies.
The economy of the Dominican Republic has transformed from an economy predominantly dependent on the export of agricultural products – sugar, coffee, cacao and tobacco – to an economy largely reliant upon tourism, telecommunications and the sale of free-trade-zone manufactured products (garments, tobacco, jewelry, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, etc.). Tourism and free-trade manufacturing are presently the fastest growing sectors.
Since 2007, as part of its overall mission to expand corporate capacity in the Dominican Republic, InteRDom has annually organized a conference attended by business students, international experts and business incubators designed to stimulate small-business growth, both in terms of numbers and capability.
