The Dominican Republic welcomes foreign investment and offers great opportunities in all areas of commercial exchange.

Given the sustainable economic growth characteristic of the last few years, emphasis has been placed on the development of new business strategies that take advantage of the country’s resources and important competitive advantages such as:

Political and Economic Stability
A Highly Qualified Labor Force and Programs to Increase Productivity
Excellent Infrastructure and Telecommunications
Banking and Security Systems
An Environment of Risk Free Operations
Fiscal Incentives and Attractive Financing
An Advantageous Geographic Location

The Dominican Republic has prepared itself for global competitiveness, negotiating access to regional blocks (Lomé Convention, CARICOM), participating in free trade agreements (DR-CAFTA) and strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations with other countries.

The nations top commercial exchange sectors include: tourism, mining (gold, bauxite, ferro nickel, silver, marble, gypsum and salt); telecommunications (a principal employment generator); the agricultural industry (it provides fruits and vegetables for the growing local market and the almost two million tourists that enter the country annually), and the financial sector (comprised of commercial, development, mortgage and multiple service banks).

Since September 2007, InteRDom has promoted a conference-workshop, in which business students, international experts and business incubators participate, to stimulate the growth of small businesses, both in terms of numbers and capacity.

If you are a student interested in developing new business plans, exploring openings in local and international markets, and/or studying possibilities for Dominican products in the international market, you could be selected to work for an organization specializing in:

International Agreements
Exports/Imports
Business Incubation
Small and Medium-Sized Businesses
Information and Communication Technologies
