Now is an exciting time to become involved in the emerging audiovisual arts industry in the Dominican Republic.

Through InteRDom, students have the ability to develop internships with a vast number of governmental institutions, television stations and production companies. As part of InteRDom’s internship offerings, the Program provides opportunities through Global Foundation for Democracy and Development and Fundación Global Democracia y Desarrollo’s Dominican Republic Global Film Festival (DRGFF) and Global Media Arts Institute (GMAI).

DRGFF, first launched in 2006, brings the best of international narrative and documentary film to the country, with the purpose of raising awareness of global political, social and economic issues; enriching local film cultural; and encouraging the development of a thriving filmmaker community. The Festival seeks to promote the film industry in the Dominican Republic and aspires to be a catalyst for social, cultural and economic advancement. Students that intern with DRGFF will have the opportunity to harness their creativity and travel to different locations throughout the country, meeting with aspiring local and international producers, directors and actors.

GMAI, established in 2006, offers innovative courses and professional development programs in audiovisual matters, with special emphasis on television and film production, both onsite and online. The Institute is dedicated to providing up-and-coming professionals in the television and film industry with comprehensive instruction in the latest trends in audiovisual production, as part of its overall mission to expand the cinematographic industry of the Dominican Republic.

InteRDom provides internships to students related to: video, film, commercial and television production; editing; film festival coordination, logistics and panel coordination, publicity, sound, translation, subtitling and web page development.
